Umpqua River Fishing

Image
The fishing and the weather have been amazing the past few week. We are seeing steady numbers of fresh fish entering the river systems. Plenty of hatchery fish around to bring joy to your brain and belly. We have been getting all of our fish side drifting yarn and eggs in the fast and slow water. The peak of the winter steelhead season is upon us now and if you haven't got your fill of the tug drug you better act now. BONK

Smith River Fishing

We have been bouncing around fishing a lot of different rivers and here is the latest report. The Smith, Klamath, Umpqua, and Rogue rivers are all producing good numbers of steelhead. We participated in the Rowdy Creek Enhancement Derby this year and found some metal in the river that flows through the giant redwood trees. All of our fish came from side drifting yarn and eggs, the water was pretty heavy and if you weren't on the bottom you weren't fishing. The rivers are in shape and pretty crowded with chrome inhabitants. You still have a month to feel the steel.

Umpqua Steelhead fishing is steady and the horse power these fish have is unbelievable. We have been getting our fish side-drifting on yarn and eggs. The bite has been off and on some days better than others. Most boats are getting a couple fish a day, and the Umpqua fishing guides are seeing 3 to 5 fish a day. The weather has been incredible with temps in the 60's. We will be fishing for steelhead through April and have 4 days left to fill for the season. If you want to lace into some chrome give us a call before its too late.

The steelhead fishing on the Umpqua River has been steady for the last couple of weeks. We saw heavy boat pressure this weekend but most boats were getting 1 to 3 fish with the guides fairing a little better. We were side-drifting yarn and eggs and had a great weekend on the river. We are closing in on the peak of the season but should see good fishing through April. You still have a couple of months to get into a fish of a lifetime so call us today. (530) 598-0530

Umpqua River fishing guides are finding a few fresh winter steelhead. We spent last last weekend trying to find places to fish do to recent rains. The river was still a little high but managed to hook into a a couple nice fish. The guides were picking up 3 to 5 fish a boat, with the plunkers doing just as good if not better. The rivers are dropping into shape and should start to fish good in the coming weeks. If you haven't booked your winter steelhead trip you might want to get on the horn, the peak of the season is coming soon and you don't want to miss out on these chrome rockets. (530) 598-0530

Scott and Kerry fished today and got fish on the fly rods, the plug rods, and the sidedrifters. The bite was slow in the morning then defiantly picked up in the afternoon. The fly fisherman ended up with the highest tally of adults this weekend. Good job guys and see you soon.

Headed north to the Umpqua River for the weekend and day one was a blast. We got into some serious chrome and heard drag peeling all day. The river is loaded with fish, and everyone was catching fish and having a good time.
