Klamath River Fishing

Salmon and Steelhead on the Klamath River are increasing their presence as each day passes. The Klamath River fall fishing is always good but this is the first season I have seen steelhead actively feeding on eggs in September. The salmon and steelhead are both biting and eggs have been the go to bait. We have been back-bouncing and boon-doging for salmon and side drifting for steelhead. We are getting 1 to 3 salmon, and 4 to 6 steelhead a day. The time of year we all have been waiting for is here, if you haven't made your plans to get to the famous Klamath River you're missing out. I have boats available for 3 days only in October, so you better act fast.

Klamath River fishing is starting to pick up, we are seeing salmon and steelhead in the middle section of the river. Most boats are getting a couple opportunities at some salmon and 3 to 5 steelhead a day. The rain this week should get some of the fish that are kegged up in the lower river heading for higher ground. We are getting geared up for our most productive and popular season on the middle Klamath River and only have a couple days left this fall so you better speak or forever wish you did.

Well, look what I found on my days off...Did some bobber fishing on the Lower Klamath River and this one couldn’t resist the pro-cured caviar. Didn’t see a lot of fish rolling but that doesn’t always mean they are not home. We are now booking our fall salmon and steelhead trips on the Klamath River and still have plenty of dates in September and a few in October. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to put some meat in the freezer this fall, pick up the phone and give us a call.

Klamath River Winter Steelhead

Image
We have been combing the entire Klamath River looking for fish this last week and we finally found some. The Klamath River Steelhead fishing was really good today on the lower river. We ended up getting 4 nice adults and countless smaller half-pounders. The winter fish are moving in and the fishing is heating up. I have some open dates so if you want to take a shot at a double digit fish give me a call and we will go get em.

Winter Steelhead on the Klamath

The Klamath River Fishing is on hold for a bit, I had to cancel our trips this week because the river is BLOWN OUT. So we decided to do some gorilla bank fishing and got into some cold hard steel. The waters were high and off color but we tested our luck and ended up catching some nice adults. The winter fish are moving up the lower river and should be through out the entire river in a month or so.

Well folks look what I found, I fished the lower Klamath River this week and got our first winter steelhead. We have been struggling with rising and muddy river conditions for the last two weeks, but in between storms we have been testing the waters. The Klamath River Fishing is in a transition right now from our fall steelhead (half-pounders) to our winter steelhead. The winter steelhead season is my favorite time of the year and if you want to get in on some of the action and take a chance at the fish of a lifetime give us a call and lets go fishing.

The recent rain and this years fire have had the river out of shape for most of the week. We have been playing the waiting game and things are going to rise again. We had a few days to fish last week and we got some nice Klamath River Steel. I am hearing some whispering about winter chrome being caught on the lower river so we might be heading down riv.

Despite high and muddy river conditions the Klamath River Fishing is still going strong. We have been getting some nice steelhead  side-drifting yarn and eggs. The fish have been hanging out in some of the softer seams but cant resist the sight of a snack when it goes by.

Sorry for the delay on the fishing report, but we have been extremely busy here on the Klamath River. The Klamath River fishing is in the middle of a transition and we are finding fish in some of the winter holes. The salmon are pretty much done spawning and the steelhead are starting to spread out. We have been getting fish on fly's, yarn, eggs, and plugs. You pick your technique and we will put you on the fish. We have a few new guides working for us this year with some open dates so give us a call today.

We have been steady slaying the fish on the Klamath River for the last three weeks. I have been seeing some impressive numbers and the larger fish are finally starting to show up. The river has been muddy and high but we still have had some amazing days. We have been getting 30 to 50 fish a day with a few nice adults. The fish are gobbling eggs, slamming the fly's and smacking the yarn balls. I have a few days left in November so call me and lets go catch some fish.

Klamath River Salmon and Steelhead Fishing

Despite lots of rain and muddy waters, the Klamath River continues to produce. If you wait for perfect weather conditions to fish then you will miss out on many opportunities to land that fish of a lifetime. The Klamath River fishing is hard to beet this time of year because you can target both salmon and steelhead. We fished the other day after 2 inches of rain and the water was black from the recent wildfires and hooked the LARGEST steelhead I have ever seen in this section of the Klamath River. We caught a record fish last year weighing 12 lbs and this fish made that record winner look like a dink. Based on the length and girth of this fish I am guessing it was 15 to 18 pounds. Chrome bright and fatter than a football this fish jumped and fought harder than anything I have ever seen. We were chasing it through a very rocky area and the line got cut. It was a fish of a lifetime, I have been beating on the Klamath River for 35 years and have never got a fish like that. The guy was de

The Klamath River Fishing is heating up, we have been boating 30 to 50 fish a day. The fish are coming in as a mixed bag, salmon and steelhead both. The combo trips this time of year are awesome, were else can you go right now and catch both species? We have been living the dream here on the Klamath River and will continue to do so for a couple of months. You still have time to check it out, give us a call today.

The bite has really turned on over the past three days, with each day getting progressive better. The Klamath River Fishing offers endless opportunity for all anglers. We have been getting salmon and steelhead daily side-drifting and we have also been picking up adult steelhead on swinging fly's.
