Klamath River Steelhead

The Klamath River fishing for steelhead is off to a good start so far this fall. I got a few solid days of steelhead slaying in before the river blew out on me. The salmon are spawning and the steelhead are feeding. We were getting 15 to 20 fish a day with a few nice adults. The 8 inches of rain we got on the west side of the Klamath brought the river up and with it came the remaining salmon that were stuck in the ocean due to the mouth of the river being sanded closed. The steelhead came pouring in with the rain and I strait whacked on the fish the first two days of the storm. I will be back on the grind tomorrow after the river greens up a little more and I am willing to bet my boat we will see the best fishing of the season. I have four days open 10/30, 11/11, 11/13, and 11/20 so book your trip ASAP. I have 3 other guides running trips for me this year so if you can't make one of my dates work but you want to rip some steel lip let me know and I will find a boat for you. "

It’s been a while since my last fishing report, so I wanted to let folks know what the word on the river was. We have finished up our 2016 fall salmon season on the Klamath River and despite the low quotas and far too early closure we had a pretty darn good season. The mouth of the river has been sanded shut for most of the last month and the fish movement has been slow because of it. If you put in your time and be patient you will get your chance at a KING of the river. I want to thank all of my customers for your support and business. We are shifting gears to focus on the fall steelhead on the Klamath River and I have had a week of fishing trips canceled because of the rain but come Wednesday I will bet we are going to see some of the best steelhead fishing of the season so get a hold of me and let’s go fishing I am offering a $100.00 discount for the next week.

Sorry for the delay in the klamath river fishing report, we have been really busy fishing. The salmon season is running a little late this year so we are still seeing lots of salmon in the holding waters around the spawning areas. We have been getting lots of bites on lures and bait, and have been getting a few nice steelhead in between. We have boats with open dates for next few weeks so let go fishing.
