The salmon are spawning, and the steelhead are hanging out close by for an easy meal. Visit the fishing report section of my new website for details and stay up to date on my social media pages listed below. The fall fishing on the Klamath River is something you really have to see to believe, it's hands down the best fishing you can find in the lower 48. The fish are not trophy size but the action sets the famous Klamath River apart from the alternatives. If you want to get off the grid and catch some fish get a hold of me. The Klamath River Steelhead Fishing has been hit and miss for the last few weeks. The river is running a bit higher than normal for this time of year and with the frequent rain storms has been off color and rising every few days. We are picking our way through the storms and finding a few fish. This weekend I observed a lot of steelhead and salmon jumping and rolling around so we have some fresh fish moving in. The rain is supposed to let up for the week and our famous half-pounder steelhead fishing should be better I hope. Winter steelhead season is just around the corner and I am getting ready to move operations up north to the Umpqua River, so let's hope the lower river is fishable this year. I will be sending out and posting my open dates soon, I hope to see you on the river.

The Klamath River fishing for steelhead is off to a good start so far this fall. I got a few solid days of steelhead slaying in before the river blew out on me. The salmon are spawning and the steelhead are feeding. We were getting 15 to 20 fish a day with a few nice adults. The 8 inches of rain we got on the west side of the Klamath brought the river up and with it came the remaining salmon that were stuck in the ocean due to the mouth of the river being sanded closed. The steelhead came pouring in with the rain and I strait whacked on the fish the first two days of the storm. I will be back on the grind tomorrow after the river greens up a little more and I am willing to bet my boat we will see the best fishing of the season. I have four days open 10/30, 11/11, 11/13, and 11/20 so book your trip ASAP. I have 3 other guides running trips for me this year so if you can't make one of my dates work but you want to rip some steel lip let me know and I will find a boat for you. "

Klamath River fishing is holding pretty steady for Ironhead Guide Service. We have definitely completed the transition into our winter holes. The fish have all moved into the deep slow water and have been a little picky with their diets. One day they will want the plugs and the next day they won't even sniff em. The low and clear water conditions coupled with the cold weather have made for some tuff bites but if you be patient and have faith in you gear you will be rewarded like the happy customers below. We have dates left for December and soon we will be booking our trophy winter steelhead season so you better get on the calendar.

Klamath River Fishing continues to be steady for Ironhead Guide Service. Salmon and Steelhead on the Klamath River are increasing their presence as each day passes. The Klamath River fall fishing is always good but this is the first season I have seen steelhead actively feeding on eggs in September. The salmon and steelhead are both biting and eggs have been the go to bait. We have been back-bouncing and boon-doging for salmon and side drifting for steelhead. We are getting 1 to 3 salmon, and 4 to 6 steelhead a day. The time of year we all have been waiting for is here, if you haven't made your plans to get to the famous Klamath River you're missing out. I have boats available for 3 days only in October, so you better act fast.

Klamath River fishing is starting to pick up, we are seeing salmon and steelhead in the middle section of the river. Most boats are getting a couple opportunities at some salmon and 3 to 5 steelhead a day. The rain this week should get some of the fish that are kegged up in the lower river heading for higher ground. We are getting geared up for our most productive and popular season on the middle Klamath River and only have a couple days left this fall so you better speak or forever wish you did.

The Klamath River Fishing is on hold for a bit, I had to cancel our trips this week because the river is BLOWN OUT. So we decided to do some gorilla bank fishing and got into some cold hard steel. The waters were high and off color but we tested our luck and ended up catching some nice adults. The winter fish are moving up the lower river and should be through out the entire river in a month or so.

Well folks look what I found, I fished the lower Klamath River this week and got our first winter steelhead. We have been struggling with rising and muddy river conditions for the last two weeks, but in between storms we have been testing the waters. The Klamath River Fishing is in a transition right now from our fall steelhead (half-pounders) to our winter steelhead. The winter steelhead season is my favorite time of the year and if you want to get in on some of the action and take a chance at the fish of a lifetime give us a call and lets go fishing.
