Klamath River Fishing

Trip information:

Your trip will begin in the morning at an identified meeting location, where your guide will make sure you have everything you need for the day of angling. You will than head up the river and launch the boat on the section of river you will be fishing. You can expect to be on the river for 6 to 8 hours, unless you need to be off the water sooner. The trip will conclude at the take out where business cards and money will change hands. If you have fish to take home it will be processed by your guide. Female salmon or steelhead eggs will be retained by the guide to replace the bait that was used and to replenish supplies. The boats seat 2 people comfortably, in some cases your guide may be able to accommodate 3 fisherman. Larger parties can be accommodated if notified in advance and other guides are available. The rates are a daily rate and are for 6 to 8 hours of fishing, if you would like to fish for a shorter amount of time let your guide now but the rates remain the same.

Ironhead Guide Service will provide all of the rods, reels, tackle and bait for conventional fishing. All you need to bring is your license, tags, lunch and beverage of choice. It is ok to consume adult beverages in moderation of course. Fly fisherman usually want to bring their own rod so if you are fly fishing with professional guide Mario Gomez feel free to bring your own stuff.


What we provide:

Heated Willie drift boat

Licensed, insured, professional guide

Rods, reels, tackle, and bait (conventional fishing)

Cooler for drinks and lunch

Fish processing


What you need to bring:

California or Oregon fishing license and tags (printed in possession)

Food and drinks for the day

Appropriate clothing (rain gear)

Fly fishing gear and tackle

Cooler for your fish in vehicle


Reservations:

Reservation can be made by phone 530-598-0530, by email mario@ironheadguideservice.com, or by going to the book a trip page. Once your date is confirmed you will be required to put down a 50% deposit to secure your date. Once your deposit is received you will get a confirmation email, and Ironhead Guide Service will be in touch with you before your scheduled adventure to go over the details.


Rates for conventional fishing:

1 person $300.00 a day + gratuity

2 people $400.00 a day + gratuity

3 people $600.00 a day + gratuity

Rates for fly fishing:

1 or 2 people fly fishing $450.00 a day + gratuity

Cancellation Policy:

Ironhead Guide Service has a 14 day cancellation period, if you fail to cancel your trip before the cancellation period ends and can’t make the appointment or do not show up, your deposit will be forfeited and you will receive no refund. Cancellations due to river conditions will be made by the guide. If your fishing adventure gets cancelled by Ironhead Guide Service do to un-favorable river conditions you can use your deposit towards a rescheduled trip. Fishing trips will not be cancelled due to rain alone, they will be cancelled based on river conditions, “the fish don’t mind the rain they are already wet”.
